Q & A

You’ll have 7 days to evaluate a snapshot of the syllabus work to see if it is a good fit for your studio. There are multiple genres available.

Yes, we have a responsibility to students and parents in our dance community to offer quality dance education worldwide. We must ensure that APDA studios offering our syllabi are of the highest standard. Applicants need to either have an internationally recognised dance qualification/s OR own an established dance studio. Referees need to be provided. If your application is not accepted for any reason you will receive a full refund.

We can set your studio and your teachers up in less than 48 hours once your application has been accepted. This will then give your teachers access to syllabus teacher training videos.

There is a one-off joining fee of USD$40. Annual registration is USD$150 per syllabus.

There is a multiple bundle discount for joining 4 genres and a full package discount for joining all syllabi.

There is an early-bird discount for existing APDA members when re-registering prior to December in the current year.

Studios receive licensing to teach the syllabus they have joined for one calendar year in dance classes. A registration certificate will be provided to show you are licensed active member.

Access to all syllabus videos is provided to the studio owner and up to 5 teachers. Teacher training notes are required to be purchased separately for the grades required.

Music information is provided. Most music is available on Spotify. We assume that all studios comply with music licensing requirements for their region (eg. APRA/AMCOSO) to legally playing music in dance classes.

All members receive regular communication throughout the year.

All members are able to attend the biennial (once every two years) teacher
workshop/conference. This is a separate cost.

Yes it is a requirement that APDA studios enter their students who are learning the syllabus into examinations or assessments annually.

We can examine video entries for studios who have entries of less than 40 candidates.

We send an examiner to all studios who have entries of 40 candidates upwards (unless internationally remote).

We have several examination sessions which teachers can select from. Examinations start in some regions from May and go through until September each year. Thailand examinations are held in December.

You can find this information on our website under the EXAMINATIONS tab.
